The Story
They say this was one of the last films ever shot by Cinematique Filmworks — a long forgotten movie studio turned boutique hotel where every room is a different movie inspired by vintage Thai cinema. Set in an old cottage near a shadowy temple, the film opens as you seek shelter in a rural cabin surrounded by mysteries and whispers of an ancient bloodline. The studio thrived in the ‘70s and ‘80s before being mysteriously abandoned. In 2025, this heritage building returned as Cinematique — a boutique theme hotel where each room is a different cinematic world—a spy thriller, jungle adventure, Muay Thai action film, and more.
The Room
Beautiful and uncannily comfortable, the room has a supremely comfortable bed and a desk and counter for work—or a seance. Queen bed with crimson sheets and a tall, carved teakwood headboard.

The Studio
Cinematique spans four floors of a beautifully restored heritage building just off Sukhumvit Road in a hip downtown neighborhood near everything you want to enjoy in Bangkok. Each room is a film set: horror, action, fantasy, historical epics, soap operas — all with a Thai cinematic twist. Cinematique is a 5-minute walk from the BTS Skytrain and close to Bangkok’s major shopping malls in a vibrant, authentic Thai community packed with street food, galleries, nightlife, restaurants, and dive bars. It’s a great and safe place to explore, have fun, and experience real Bangkok. Cannabis-friendly: While you cannot smoke indoors, weed is legal and you may smoke it in designated areas.
Perks
Cinematique guests receive free game tokens, drinks, or joints right across the street at Arcadia, our neon-lit 1980s barcade and cannabis dispensary. Grab a craft beer or legally roll a joint while battling aliens on vintage arcade cabinets.
Guest Access
Cinematique is a self-check-in hotel. You’ll receive a single unique code that opens the building entrance, the hotel entrance, and your private room door. The hotel starts on the mezzanine level and includes access to a shared coworking lounge, which will soon also screen films for guests.
Guests may check in any time after 2pm. Checkout is noon. Special requests for early checkin or late checkout may be arranged but may come with an additional charge. The cameras are ready. Your scene is waiting.

No Indoor Smoking: This is a non-smoking room. Smoking is permitted in designated areas including the building rooftop and behind the building on the ground floor.
Stairs Required: Unfortunately, there is no elevator. That means, to our great regret, that we cannot accommodate guests with mobility limitations.
